Odu Ifa refers to the sacred oral corpus of the Ifa divination system, which is practiced primarily by the Yoruba people of Nigeria and other parts of West Africa. It consists of a vast collection of verses (odu) that encode the wisdom, teachings, and predictions of the Yoruba deities (Orisas). Odu Ifa is consulted by Ifa priests (babalawos) to provide guidance and insight into various aspects of life, including health, relationships, and career decisions. 

The 256 Odu Ifa are the various combinations of 16 primary Odu, each of which is formed by the binary sequence of four paired figures, known as “marks” or “digits.”
